Impress: Print Making Expanded in Contemporary Art responds to The Courtauld Gallery’s Summer Showcase, Bruegel to Freud: Prints from The Courtauld Gallery.

This exhibition explored how traditional printmaking techniques have been reimagined and reworked in contemporary art. It invites us to consider: what makes a print a print? Common conceptions of prints and printmaking are expanded, from two-dimensional to three-dimensional, from mass-produced to unique, from paper to mixed media.

Impress has been curated by students of the MA Curating the Art Museum programme, and draws on two significant collections, The Courtauld Gallery and The Arts Council Collection.
