On 17th November 2019, after months of collaboration between the teams at the Courtauld and the Herbert, Radical Drawing opened to the public. The works were taken from the collections of The Courtauld Gallery in London, the University of Warwick and the Herbert’s own collection, and include works by George Romney, Camille Pissarro, Pablo Picasso, Art & Language, Barbara Walker and Miriam de Búrca.
Radical Drawing was a unique opportunity to explore a group of remarkable drawings by artists who have pushed the boundaries of what it means to draw. Also on display were objects linked to the Courtaulds factory in Coventry, and a film specially produced for the exhibition about the factory.
