Ashton Sixth Form College has specialised in further education for 16-18 year olds for more than thirty years, and is a key partner in our education programme which seeks to engage young people with their local industrial heritage through arts and architecture.
Courtaulds Ltd had a significant presence in the North West, building on the importance of textile production in the region they acquired the Lancashire Cotton Corporation in 1964. This included Cedar Mill in Ashton-under-Lyne, the last cotton spinning mill in the area which closed in 1980.
Students from Ashton Sixth Form College in Ashton-Under-Lyne are working with members of the Courtauld Alumni network to find out more about the career and employment opportunities that can follow higher education in art history.
Find out more about the project and hear from our alumni on the Career Conversations page.
