Radical Drawing: Works from Coventry and the Courtauld
18th October 2019 @ 10:00 am - 19th January 2020 @ 4:00 pm
Radical Drawing is a unique opportunity to explore a group of remarkable drawings by artists who have pushed the boundaries of what it means to draw. The exhibits are taken from the collections of the Courtauld Gallery, the Herbert and the University of Warwick, and include works by George Romney, Camille Pissarro, Pablo Picasso, Art & Language, Barbara Walker and Miriam de Búrca. This exhibition offers visitors a series of encounters with works that show the radical and creative potential of drawn marks and lines.
Also on display are objects from the Herbert’s collections linked to the Courtaulds factory in Coventry, and a film specially produced for the exhibition featuring former employees of Courtaulds Ltd talking about their experiences of working for this significant employer in the city.
