Voices of Courtaulds

A volunteer discussing Courtauld memories with a visitor in library

In 2021 Greenfield Valley Heritage Park will tour a new pop-up exhibition to leisure and culture sites in North Wales. The exhibition, Voices of Courtaulds, explores the social and industrial history of Courtaulds textile manufacture in the area through the voices of those who worked and lived there.

The exhibition is the result of a collaborative two-year volunteer project, which started in 2018 when staff and volunteers from Greenfield Valley visited The Courtauld for an interactive study day. The volunteers went on to host two incredibly successful Story Shop weekends in Flint and Holywell where more than 120 members of the local community dropped in to share their memories and photographs of the Courtauld factories, and to catch up with old friends. The stories from these events form the core of the Voices of Courtaulds exhibition.

Please note the exhibition is currently postponed due to Covid-19 closures, we will share dates and locations for the exhibition once it reopens.
