Happy New Year. The ‘change freeze’ on our website has now ended.

11 plugin updates and one WordPress ‘core’ update were applied to https://courtauld.ac.uk yesterday following test rollouts on our development and staging servers. A WordPress ‘core’ update was also applied, taking WordPress to version 5.8.3 (which includes 4 security fixes. See here: https://wordpress.org/news/2022/01/wordpress-5-8-3-security-release/   ).

No, or minimal, impact would be expected from this update (and testing suggests all is fine) however as usual do please let website@courtauld.ac.uk know if you notice any peculiarities.

14 plugin updates and one WordPress ‘core’ update were applied to http://courtauld.ac.uk today following test rollouts on our development and staging servers. A WordPress ‘core’ update was also applied, taking WordPress to version 5.8.2 (which includes several security fixes and dozens of bug fixes. See here: https://wordpress.org/support/wordpress-version/version-5-8-2/  ).

This will be the final round of update of 2021 with a ‘change freeze’ now applied until the new year.

Final 2021 round of plugin and theme updates sites.courtauld | Retirement of blog.courtauld

A full round of 29 plugin updates have today been applied to https://sites.courtauld.ac.uk , plus a number of theme updates and an update to WordPress core taking it to version 5.8.2 and providing several security and bug patches, info here: https://wordpress.org/support/wordpress-version/version-5-8-2/ No impacts would be expected from these updates, however as ever if there are any peculiarities noticed please let the web team know at website@courtauld.ac.uk

Updates will now be frozen for the remainder of 2021, recommencing in January 2022.

http://blog.courtauld.ac.uk has also been fully updated, however this platform will be now be retired in the foreseeable with all blogs now having been migrated over to the sites.courtauld platform. It will technically be maintained for a couple of months while search engines catch up with the permanent redirects current in place there, after which point it will be retired entirely.

5 plugin updates, and an update to WordPress ‘core’ (taking it to version 5.6.2), have today been applied to courtauld.ac.uk.

The WordPress core update should resolve the issue some have experienced where they are erroneously prompted “Leave site? Changes you made may not be saved”.

Our server issue with database connection seems to now be under control, however do please report any recurrences.
