Porras situates the 1610 <em>Effigies<\/em> within the widespread practice of reprinting older Flemish prints and the emergence of a market for \u201cNetherlandish\u201d subjects. Joanna Woodall\u2019s essay looks beyond \u201clikeness to the life\u201d to study the distinctive yet related ways in which Cock\u2019s and Hondius\u2019s series of prints produce subjectivity through the category of the Netherlandish artist.
