Valeria is from Vicenza, Italy. Before coming to the Courtauld, she completed a MA in Contemporary Art History from Ca’ Foscari University, Venice and participated in an exchange program at Columbia University, New York. She worked with Sotheby’s, in the Educational Department of the Peggy Guggenheim Collection, as well as an artist liaison at Lia Rumma Gallery, where she worked with major artists such as Marina Abramović, Anselm Kiefer and Joseph Kosuth. Earlier this year, she was a script coordinator for Marysia Lewandowska’s project, ‘It’s About Time’, presented at the V&A Pavilion of Applied Arts, Venice Biennale 2019. Her current project, W21, investigates crossdiscipline women’s practice in Art, Science and Technology. She is specialising in contemporary time-based art, and especially on VR and AI genered artworks.
